New Brunswick in the mid-1900s was torn with racial issues, dividing the city and causing turmoil. The New Brunswick Urban League aimed to not separate, but unite all people as American citizens for the betterment of the city. Needing to raise $7,500, the Urban League set out to fundraise and reach their goal.
