Description
This medal was awarded to Thomas Mundy Peterson on May 30, 1884 by the citizens of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. It was meant to honor him for being the first African American to vote. The citizens raised $70 for the medal. President Abraham Lincoln is pictured on the medallion.
